I
had the opportunity to work with Larry Holland and Totally Games on a
port from PC to MAC of the classic Star Wars game "TIE Fighter."
This meant doubling the size of the images and pushing the color range
to something reasonable (256 colors.) I used 3D Studio R4 for the first
time and revised the textures on the existing models, then redrew alot
in photoshop to get the final effect.
The
overhead clamshell door on this one came down to encompass the sim
seat. I had fun putting the starfield on the inside of the simulator.
Tie Fighter Registration Desk
The
main animation here was the Registration Officer and the buttons on the
bottom, though the Stormtroopers had an animation and the door would
open when the player entered the rest of the game.
